Some disc generate white noise with DVDPean
Answer: The white noise problem may be caused by 24 bit LPCM. At present, DVDPean only can process 16 bit sound (16 bit sound is standard), so if the audio track is 24 bit, the output file will be white noise. You can choose AC3 in "Audio track" combo-box.

What happens after I send in the order?
Answer:Normally, you will receive your registration information within 72 hours after committing the online order form. What is an ASPI Driver?
Answer:An ASPI driver is required for DVD ripping. Windows 95 or 98 comes with the ASPI manager pre-installed, while NT does not. To tell if you have an ASPI manager installed, look for a file called WNASPI32.DLL in your Windows system directory (c:\windows\system or c:\winnt\system32 are common locations). If DVDPean is unable to find the ASPI driver, you can download an ASPI driver from here.
Can not read from XXXXX.vob, why?
Answer:This problem results from the copy protection of your dvd disc. To unlock the dvd disc, you can also use dvd player software. PowerDVD will do the job. Just play the DVD with PowerDVD and run DVDPean, the "Can not read..." problem will go away.

What is .IFO file?
Answer:The .IFO (and backup .BUP) files contain menus and other information about the video and audio.

What is .VOB and .AOB file?
Answer:VOB files (for DVD-Video) and .AOB files (for DVD-Audio) are MPEG-2 program streams with additional packets containing navigation and search information.

What is 'Bitrate'?
Answer:Also known as Bit rate. The speed at which digital audio and video content streams from a source, such as a file, to be rendered properly by a player, or the speed at which binary content in general is streamed on a network.

What is 'Codec'?
Answer:Abbreviation for compressor/decompressor. Codecs are various types of computer algorithms that are applied to audio, video, and image files to compress the size of the files.

What is SVCD?
Answer:SVCD is Super Video CD, a great method to save DVD movie to CD without losing much quality. SVCD disc is able to be played in your DVD player.

What's DIVX?
Answer:DIVX is the MP3 for movie. You get the same video quality as DVD while keep 1/10 of the size. You can play DIVX in your computer or share it in Internet. Some up-to-date DVD players can now play DIVX movie as well.

Can I decode DVD with Macrovision encryption?
Answer:Yes. DVDPean handles Macrovision encryption.

Is DVDPean easy to use?
Answer:Yes. There is a step-by-step wizard for you to select necessary parameters to rip DVD audio.

When I start to convert DVD to Divx AVI file, it says no video codec is selected?
Answer:You should install DIVX codec before you can encode to divx avi files. You can download divx codec from www.divx.com.

How to convert to a big file without split to several 700M files?
Answer:At the last step of the wizard, you can select the output file size to "infinite" instead of the default 74Minute VCD or 74Minute ISO CD.

What do these parameters mean?
Answer:Most parameters are for the expert. You can use the default setting for any dvd ripping.
